I am an enthusiastic, driven and charismatic individual who strives on a daily basis toward excellence and success. I am friendly, outspoken and hardworking and I bring passion and excitement to the things I endeavour to achieve. I have a strong sense of morals and values, qualities which are evident in my work ethic and my interactions with others. People are my passion and I have always put myself in a position where I am able to motivate and inspire others. I do take my responsibilities seriously but I’m also able to see things in perspective and believe I’m quite easy-going to work with. Life has by no means been an easy road for me but I have taken all my experiences both pleasant and unpleasant and used them as learning curves, making me the individual I am today.
My experience in the laboratory environment has taught me how to cope well when the going gets tough, to work under pressure and to dedicate my all in any task that is handed to me. The experience that I have attained has provided me with a sound background on my field of work as well as skills that enable me to perform to my full potential in the work place. I am passionate about learning and easily trainable, enabling me to achieve a high standard of competency at a quick pace.
I strongly believe that I am capable of fulfilling the duties required of me and that my passion for chemistry will continue to grow as a result of this opportunity.

Experience: I have helped my fellow peers and students in younger grades by tutoring them in various subjects such as Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Life Sciences and English in my free time. At school, I have assisted my teachers in extra hour learning programmes by tutoring students at my own level.

I was a chemistry laboratory demonstrator for second year students in the industrial chemistry module. This entailed supported teaching through the demonstration of laboratory techniques (distillation, filtration, preparation of standards, reflux and heating) and basic analytical instrumentation (FT-IR Spectroscopy and GC-FID). I also supervised students performing analyses and initiated discussions with respect to the underlying theory behind the practical while as well as ensuring a safe laboratory environment by being aware of the health and safety implications that may arise during the practical session. Graded practical reports and provided feedback to students.
