I am was on the Steam Stations Minimum Emissions Standards (MES) Programme at Sasol in Sasolburg as an Electrical and Instrumentation supervisor. My responsibilities include the following:
1. Quality assurance and punch listing to ensure that the works are fully completed prior to client acceptance.
2. Assist senior instrument engineers with verifying the Distributed Control System (DCS) as per design documents during both hardware and software factory acceptance tests (FAT).
3. Assist with commission boilers to achieve good optimization.
4. Planning and coordinating Electrostatic Precipitator (ESP) performance test run to ensure tests are completed successfully for compliance with governmentâs minimum emission standards.
5. Assist with modifications to improve the plantâs reliability
6. Attend and participate in commission meetings, discussion, PDA and Root cause analysis
7. As-building of the Mechanical Flow Diagrams (MFD), control and instrumentation systems for existing instruments in the field, the marshalling cabinets for DCS, the existing low voltage MCCâs in the substation, layout diagrams, MCC general arrangement (GA) drawings, schematics, and existing cables.
