Information about Joana
I am a hardworking person, very committed to my work, well organized and responsible.
I feel grateful for having two passions in my life and feel fulfilled when working in any of them. The first one is teaching and being a role model for my students, the second is development cooperation and be able to make a difference and contribute to the development of more marginalized populations.
Finally, although English is not my first language, having worked/volunteered in a variety of countries around the world, I am able to interact and communicate easily. Apart from English, I am also capable to teach/tutor early grades (up to grade 4 or 5) Science and Math.
Availability: Anytime, depending on parents/students needs
Willing to travel: 20 miles
Experience: Before University, in 2007-2008, I was the Au Pair of a 12 year boy in England and helped him with his school work.
In 2009, during the summer of my first year at University, in England, I volunteered in a School in Swaziland and taught English and Science to two grade 4 classes.
From January 2012 until August 2014 I was a teacher in an international English School in Beira, Mozambique. Taught English from grade 3 to grade 11 during that period and also taught Science to one grade 5 class in my first year of teaching.
