I am a creative and enthusiastic teacher with excellent language skills writing in application for the post of Secondary English Teacher at the advertised school. I am enclosing my resume for your perusal and consideration for the above position.


I have over 20 years’ experience in teaching in various positions as an English teacher, including South Africa. I have 5 years’ experience in teaching at International schools in Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Aqaba, Jordan.

I have shown my ability to develop complete curricula for a variety of courses including assignments, tests and exams. I believe that to be an effective teacher one must also be an effective learner, which is why I continue to develop and challenge myself.

I have always been able to establish good rapport with the students, and their parents. I combine my teaching expertise with compassion, enthusiasm and ability to motivate my students to not only perform superlatively in the academics but also in all other fields to become citizens that will make the institution, county and country proud.

I am fully computer literate and use this system on a daily basis, and recognise the effectiveness of it for parents (who often travel) as well as students to keep up to date. I have taught research skills as well as used smart boards and other media to make for diversified teaching.

Having lived in the Middle East I am sensitive to subject matter and the role of youth in current times, however I do firmly believe that the youth need to be encouraged in the field of public speaking. So often we are faced with speakers who do not fully grasp the importance of using effective and correct language. This is a subject that as an extra mural activity and (also in the classroom) I deem to be vitally important. I have also taken part in book week, International Day and am currently running the Student Council. I also give lessons on public speaking, as well as remedial English.
