Information about Loyiso
Hi, I`m PAPA, a passionate and experienced tutor based in Johannesburg, Gauteng. I specialize in Mathematics, Physical Sciences, and Life Sciences for Grades 10â12, helping students build strong foundations, master CAPS concepts, and achieve excellent Matric results.
I matriculated in 2022 with outstanding marks in my key subjects: Mathematics 73% (Level 6), Physical Sciences 74% (Level 6), and Life Sciences 89% (Level 7 â distinction level). I also achieved Level 7 in IsiXhosa HL (82%), Level 6 in English FAL (73%), and strong results across other subjects like Geography (71%) and Agricultural Sciences (75%). In Grade 12, I successfully tutored my classmates in these subjects, boosting their understanding and confidence.
After Matric, I pursued a BSc in Medical Biosciences at the University of the Western Cape (UWC) in 2023, which deepened my knowledge of biology and scientific processes. I then transferred to the University of Johannesburg (UJ) for a BEng Tech in Electrical Engineering (2024â2025), giving me practical insight into physics, maths applications (e.g., circuits, mechanics), and problem-solving â skills I bring directly into my tutoring to make abstract topics relatable and real-world connected.
Currently taking a break from full-time studies for personal reasons, I`m excited to dedicate my time to supporting learners. As former head boy, I have strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills â I`m patient, encouraging, and excellent at explaining complex ideas in simple, step-by-step ways. My sessions are student-centered: I assess your strengths/weaknesses, use DBE past papers, Siyavula resources, diagrams, and interactive examples, and focus on exam techniques to turn challenges into successes.
I offer flexible lessons: 1-on-1 or small groups, in-person in Johannesburg areas, or online via Zoom. Perfect for exam prep (trials, finals), catching up, or aiming for distinctions and university readiness.
If you`re looking for a dedicated tutor who understands both high school pressures and tertiary demands, let`s connect â I`d love to help you reach your full potential!

Experience: During my Grade 12 year (2022), I actively tutored my classmates in Mathematics, Physical Sciences, and Life Sciences. I helped several peers understand challenging topics â such as calculus, mechanics, organic chemistry, human physiology, and genetics â often leading to noticeable improvements in their test scores and overall confidence. This informal one-on-one and small-group tutoring honed my ability to break down complex CAPS curriculum concepts into clear, step-by-step explanations tailored to individual learning styles.
As head boy at my school, I further developed mentoring and leadership skills by supporting younger students with study strategies, motivation, and academic guidance. This role strengthened my communication, patience, and ability to create encouraging learning environments.
Although I am relatively new to formal private tutoring, my recent university studies (BSc Medical Biosciences at UWC in 2023, and BEng Tech Electrical Engineering at UJ in 2024â2025) have given me advanced insight into these subjects, allowing me to connect high school content to real-world and tertiary applications (e.g., physics in engineering circuits or biology in medical contexts). I am now excited to bring this knowledge and passion to dedicated Grade 10â12 students in Johannesburg, focusing on exam preparation, concept mastery, and building long-term academic success.
I am committed to ongoing improvement and welcome feedback to ensure every session is effective and enjoyable.
