I am an adventurous person, loves to meet new people and and also lend a helping hand.

My philosophy about teaching/tutoring:
First and foremost I learnt, and i am still learning, that a teacher/tutor never stops learning. The teacher also becomes the student in the classroom. The following two ways describe how:
1. By putting him/herself in the learner`s shoes (as a recipient); seeing the learner`s point of view, the teacher is able to present lessons that are relevant and in a pertinent manner to the students.
2. By allowing him/herself to be corrected and receive feedback, the teacher is able to improve on their knowledge and skills. I have also noticed that when i allow myself to be corrected, in a positive manner, the students don`t shy away from giving answers in class/ or participating in class with fear of being corrected or laughed at. They understand that being corrected is part of the learning process and it can only improve than harm them.
I also believe that teaching draws so much on the energy of the two parties (the teacher and the student), which is why in my tutoring sessions i encourage my students to be in a mindset to be ready to receive. My students can only be able to do this in a positive and safe environment where there is respect and participation and creativity is encouraged. Additionally, i think that by creating and presenting lessons that draw on most (if not all) of the learners` senses enhances their learning capabilities. It is also important for me as a tutor to know that no one student will be the same as the other, and in this regard i need to adapt my tutoring methods to include all my learners and give them a positive learning experience. I always think to myself, how could i be better than my previous tutors? as a student how would i prefer to be taught?

Experience: I have had the experience of tutoring Internal Auditing to second year undergraduate students at the University of Pretoria during my Honours year. I then believed first hand what people meant when they would tell me that teaching is a rewarding career. Seeing the great amount of learners progress daily because of the knowledge and skills i have imparted onto them encouraged me to not look back (or rather elsewhere). I see this as well, presently, when i am tutoring English and Mathematics to high school students (in my personal capacity). The confidence and growth i see in them is a pleasure to watch. I also have under 3 years of professional experience in the Internal Auditing space.
