Philip

I am a life-long teacher of mathematics and other subjects. As a patient and kind person I find that tutoring is always an enjoyable experience. I am sensitive to the various needs of learners: personal, academic and cultural and treat all students without favour.
I have degrees in Arts, Science and Education and completed a doctorate on academic literacy and learning.
My interests include art and music and I also like to be active either through crafts of outdoor activities such as walking and sport.

Willing to travel: Home Only

Experience: I have taught a range of curricula: CAPS, IEB and Cambridge International (up to A level) at the high school level. I spend a number of years at universities working in teacher development and materials and applications development for mathematics learners.
My work has been in-person and online and I am equally comfortable in both environments.
I have a particular interest is supplementing my personal tutoring by using mathematical modelling software like Geogebra because it enables me to illustrate dynamic aspects of mathematics which enhances understanding and enjoyment of the subject.
