Hi, I’m Anneli. I’m a friendly and patient tutor who enjoys helping people learn in a way that feels comfortable and not stressful.

I offer English and Afrikaans lessons and I especially enjoy working with children and beginners. I believe that lessons don’t have to feel boring or intimidating, and I try to make them relaxed, simple and enjoyable.

I adjust my lessons depending on the student and what they need help with. We can work on speaking, reading, vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar or simply building confidence in using the language.

I’m patient and happy to explain something more than once or try a different way if a student doesn’t understand it the first time. I want my students to feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, because that’s part of learning.

I recently completed my 120-hour TEFL course and I’m excited to start helping students improve their English and Afrikaans skills.

Experience: I recently completed my 120-hour TEFL certification, which gave me a good foundation in teaching English, lesson planning, grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and working with learners at different levels.

I have experience working with children and understand that every child learns differently. I am patient and enjoy explaining things in simple ways and using activities that keep lessons interesting and enjoyable.

I am also a native Afrikaans speaker and can help learners improve their Afrikaans speaking, reading, vocabulary and general language skills.

Although I am still building my experience as a professional tutor, I take each lesson seriously and make an effort to prepare for my students. I want my lessons to be a comfortable space where students can ask questions, make mistakes and learn without feeling embarrassed.
